The Early Years
The songs on this CD are a glimpse into the early stirrings of the LIFE of Christ within me.
The songs, "I am Yours Today," "I'm Living my Life," "Child of the King," " I can do it on my Own," and "The Story of a Nazarene," were written in Europe.
"Love Is," "Pray Drink Thee of My Message," "Praise the Lord," and "There’s more to Life," were written while I was in Africa (side note: I arrived in Africa with $3 in my pocket. God had challenged me to live by faith… trusting Him for my provisions. I initially traveled with YWAM through Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia. I left YWAM in Zambia and hitchhiked 2,000 miles through Africa to Nairobi, Kenya. I had the opportunity to see Victoria Falls, climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and be chased by an elephant… the beginnings of an abundant life).
The songs, "Together we will Build His Kingdom," "Come Drink of His Waters," "Blessed is the Man," St. Francis prayer… "Lord, Make Me an Instrument," "The Lord's Prayer," "Take my Life," and "Heed the Call," were written while I was at Reba Place Fellowship (a charismatic Mennonite community in Evanston, Illinois, where I continued learning through the life examples of Julius Belser, Virgil Voght and the community members at large)
"Like a Child," and "His Name," were written in Salem, Oregon.
